Hodgenville Ky Location Photograher - The "D" Family

I have known this family for years and am so thrilled they asked me to take family photos for them. When we scheduled the session, of course my first instinct is to keep a check on the weather when doing a location shoot, and to my delight it was supposed to be a nice overcast day! Of course as usual with Kentucky weather, it changes just about everyday. So over the week it went to being overcast to stormy.... " :-( ". So the day before, Miss "T" called and as we discussed the day we still were not sure how the day was going to turn out! The day of the shoot, it was back and forth, cloudy one minute, sunny the next and then stormy the next. Whewww....we barely pulled it off! When they arrived to the location it was sunny and then being there nearly 10 minutes the sky started to change very fast. We were very lucky and the rain decided to give me break and hold off until we were done! Thank You "D" family for letting me photograph your family photos! I had a wonderful time! Here are a few sneaks of the session.

I had the great joy of photographing this family last week! What a fun trio! We had a great time. We did a few studio and headed out to do some location shots as it was such a gorgeous day! I shot Meagan's studio senior photos in January, and boy did we have a blast We waited for this nice weather to do her location photos, and again had a lot of great laughs. And the places we went to do these photos, well one is obvious, but let's just say all in the name of a good shot, LOL!

My Sis came by one night recently and was all dolled up as her and her husband had planned on going on a date night, but decided to visit me and my little one instead. She asked me to take a few studio pics while she was here! We spent about 10 minutes shooting and just acting crazy, LOL! I got so many great shots of her, but this one is my absolute favorite! She just looks so peaceful and happy here!

As you may notice with my logo, I like to match it with colors in the photo for when I post them to the web! What do you guys think?

This Is Cutie Pie Big Brother!

I searched high and low for this prop! I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for so I had this custom made. I then finished it myself and I Love the outcome! I will be able to use this for newborn's all the way to 1 year!! I LOVE IT!

Miss "K" sure is a cutie pie! I started photographing this family when her big brother who will be turnng 6 in just short while, was just a baby! She just recently celebrated her 4th birthday in which she had a candy shop party for all of her little school girlfriends! At one time she was rolling around in the floor and I jokingly said "Am I wearing you out" and she said "Yes", LOL! So cute! Thank You Miss "K" for being such a cutie pie little model.

Splish Splash I Was Takin A Bath

Okay, so I have never seen a little one so eager to get in the bath tub like my little one! If you even mention the word BATH, he heads right for the stairs and if you don't take him up right that second, oh my goodness! I think I could let him play in the water for a couple hours or until his little fingers and toes where way passed the shriveled up point and he still would not want to get out! He LOVES it! He loves it so much that normally I look like Ive been in the bath to, because by the time he's done, Im soaked! Here are few photos from tonights bath time!

The Studio

Wow, I finally got the studio painted today! Thanks Josh and Kayla for watching "Baby" for me and Thanks Josh for helping me put my paper rolls back up! Paper backgrounds are so convenient for quick changes, but they are very odd and weird to move around, and it takes two people to place them on the mounting system. Soon it will be time for me to get another system for another wall as Ive already filled my 4 slots up with colors!

Yay! Im having a custom prop made for babies! I won't tell you what it is, you'll have to check back soon for photos!

No Fun being Sick!

I think everyone can agree with me that it is no fun being sick! My son and I just flew in from Portland Sunday where the weather was much milder but so damp! We both flew sick! I do not recommend to anyone to fly cross country by yourself with a 21 month old when you are sick, much less when they are sick! But as my official Start back day was set for March the 1st, I was bound and determined to be here as I had so many new things and some print orders that would be coming in this week! So much for that idea! I think I was sicker Monday from all the traveling! There went my official startback date! Just my luck! Today being Thursday however, I do feel some better and was actually able to work on my blog! This is a work in progess for me as I know nothing about html codes, but for the most part I can manipulate them to get it to look how I want! So viola...here it is! It is getting there!

This is the Christmas card that I designed for my family for 2009! Im in love with Damask! This is a very large file, so as you can see for web resolution it is slightly distorted, but they turned out so gorgeous and I Loved them! Hmmm....what will I do next year!

Wow, time sure does fly! I can't believe he is already 18 months old! He is so full of energy and such a happy little boy! He will not hold still for 2 seconds, and to date is the hardest subject Ive had the pleasure to shoot! To him, Im just mommy with a big ole thing stuck in front of her face! I have to run around and act crazy just to get him to look at me while taking his photos...but I love every minute of it!

Davids Fall Photos

As with all teenagers I love doing differnt styles of photos. Im not to keen on straight out of the camera type prints, or what we photogaphers call SOOC. I always do some type of editing...but this teenager, be it my stepson, doesnt like to have his photo made, so I was actually lucky to get these shots and I believe they are just gorgeous of him. I didnt want to do anything typical and although he is still an under classman, I wanted them to have a senior photo look. I Love the end results!

Weddings

Over my professional photography career, I have shot a large amount of weddings. I started shooting with film, as that is how I learned slr photography going on 20 years ago. I always said I would never make the switch, but now I can't believe I didn't do it sooner than I did. These are just a tiny few of my favorite weddings after making the switch.
